Dear Dr. Lawler,
Your article strikes home. It is uncanny that as I awoke this morning the reality of aging and its impact on my life sprang to my mind. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season had a definite impact on the way I felt, I wanted to stay in bed, I was getting old! The mind was reeling off my anticipated agenda for the day, week, month and beyond, but the body was sayin: Whoaa!! And, the thought of future care just sprang into mind. If I can't do it who will help. Your excellent description of the statuss and views of the American middle class society on aging 'hit the nail on the head' and should be required reading for all of us.
Thank you for so concisely reminding us of our present and responsibilities.

Dear Dr. Lawler,

Your article resonates with me. Whereas we can hardly imagine that society at large will adapt to caring for the elderly and disabled, we can more easily imagine a return to the concept of hospice that St. Basil incorporated in his basilicas.

I've done this in my book _The Ministry Driven Church_ which is available at my website www.agape-biblia.org/ministry/ .

Best regards,

Robert
